Years ago, a group of enthusiasts founded the non-profit association Forum Medizin. Together with opinion leaders, we organized and continue to organize interdisciplinary medical training throughout Austria. At a Club Tirol summer party, Prof. Dr. Ebenbichler told me about the project 'With transplants on Kilimanjaro', I was fascinated and wanted to know more.
I met OA Dr. Peter Jaksch, the initiator of the idea, and at first I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was fascinated and the desire to get actively involved grew, and in 2023 the time had finally come! Transplant for life was launched as a brand, the concept of science - medical training for doctors; public campaigns, events, promotion to sensitize the public to the topic.
Why transplant
During the projects and discussions, we were always impressed by the positive attitude towards life, the courage and the energy that many organ transplant patients have. We were fascinated to get to know a worldwide community that meets and exchanges ideas at local and international events such as the World Transplant Summer Games 2025, but we also learned that public awareness is almost non-existent - we want to change that together with the self-help groups, institutions and enthusiastic people!

Transplant for life stands for courage, strength, freedom and joy of life, an idea that was initiated to achieve a high level of public awareness and a sustainable increase in awareness of transplants among people through extraordinary campaigns and events.
